COGOTEC LIMITED

Website and enquiry terms

Business terms for the Expat Life Insure service

Effective 28 October 2026. Version 2026-10-28.

These terms explain the website and enquiry service provided by Cogotec Limited. They are separate from an insurer’s policy and from any adviser’s engagement terms.

The operator and scope of the service

Expat Life Insure is operated by Cogotec Limited, a company registered in Hong Kong with business registration number 74373704. Our registered address is Rooms 1703-1704, 17/F, Tung Chiu Commercial Centre, 193 Lockhart Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong.

We provide educational resources and access to a guided quote platform. Instly is our technology provider. Enquiries are passed on to licensed partners for the insurance services they are authorised to provide.

Cogotec operates the technology for this service. The website does not underwrite insurance, issue policies or decide claims. Using it does not appoint Cogotec to give you regulated insurance advice or arrange a policy. Any insurance advice or arrangement requires the appropriate licensed partner’s separate engagement and disclosures.

These terms apply to use of expatlifeinsure.com and its connected branded quote journey. They do not replace separate agreements for other Cogotec services or the terms of another website.

Using the resources and quote tool

The guides explain general concepts and questions to raise with an adviser. They do not assess your personal circumstances or provide individual insurance, investment, tax or legal advice. Check the current policy wording and obtain advice appropriate to your situation before deciding.

The service is intended for adults aged 18 or over. Give accurate information and correct mistakes before requesting follow-up. Country of residence, age, tobacco use, the type of cover and other details can affect the result. An estimate based on incomplete or inaccurate answers may not be available on the same terms when an application is assessed.

Do not upload or type detailed medical records, identity documents, payment-card details or another person’s personal information unless a later authorised process specifically requires them.

Indicative results and insurance cover

Prices are indicative only, not an offer of insurance. Final premiums are confirmed by the insurer after underwriting.

A displayed amount, reference number or saved enquiry does not mean an application has been submitted, accepted or insured. The insurer decides eligibility, underwriting, exclusions, conditions and the start date. Rely on the final documents and written confirmation of cover.

The life-cover journey includes Atlas Life and Manhattan Trust, subject to product and country availability. It is not a review of the whole insurance market. Showing an insurer’s name does not mean the insurer endorses every statement on this website or guarantees a result.

If Market Shield regular savings or Fixed Index Annuity is shown in the tool, projections are illustrative and not guaranteed. Illustrated growth, values and outcomes may differ from actual results. Ask the adviser for the product documents, charges, surrender conditions, guarantees and relevant risks before committing.

Partner advice and applications

Enquiries are passed on to licensed partners. Before proceeding, you should receive the partner’s legal name, relevant authorisation, role, contact details, terms of business and complaints information. Availability depends on your location and the partner’s permissions.

A website link or an international product description does not establish that a service can lawfully be offered in every country. If no appropriate partner or product is available, the enquiry may not progress.

Any recommendation, application, underwriting request, policy servicing or claim is subject to the responsible adviser’s or insurer’s own process. The service does not promise acceptance, a particular premium, an investment return or payment of a claim.

Fees, payments and commercial relationships

The website and public quote interface do not take payment-card details or collect insurance premiums. Any premium must be paid using instructions verified with the insurer or its authorised intermediary.

Before you commit to any separately chargeable service, the party charging you must explain the fee and obtain your agreement. An adviser’s charges, insurer premiums and product costs are governed by the applicable documents.

Any material commission, referral payment, technology fee or other commercial relationship relevant to the service must be explained when applicable, including who pays it and whether it affects your cost. You can ask for this information before proceeding. These terms do not describe the platform as commission-free or independent of every commercial relationship.

Enquiries, privacy and communications

Use the quote journey to request an adviser enquiry. Check the collection notice before entering answers and contact details. The Privacy Policy explains activity recording, recipients, retention and how to make a privacy request.

You choose whether to send an email or message through an external contact link. Email and messaging providers apply their own terms. We do not promise a particular response time or that a particular communication channel will always be available.

The quote service is not an emergency or claims-notification channel. For an existing policy or claim, use the insurer’s or appointed adviser’s verified contact process and comply with the deadlines in your policy.

Acceptable use and intellectual property

Use the service lawfully. Do not interfere with security, impersonate another person, submit information you are not authorised to provide, overload the service, or attempt to extract private records, rate tables, code or credentials.

Website material is owned by or licensed to Cogotec or the identified rights holder. You may read it and keep reasonable copies for personal, non-commercial reference, with notices intact. Other reuse requires permission unless applicable law permits it. Insurer names, third-party materials and open-source components retain their respective owners’ rights.

These terms do not prevent ordinary linking to public pages or legitimate search-engine indexing in accordance with the site’s published access controls.

Availability, errors and responsibility

We aim to keep the service useful and accurate, but information, insurer products and technical services can change. We may correct errors, update content, restrict abusive use or suspend a feature for maintenance or security.

There may be interruptions, delayed results or errors. If a result seems wrong or important information is unclear, stop and obtain confirmation before acting. A correction to website information does not itself amend an insurance contract.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability or restricts rights where doing so would be unlawful, including applicable mandatory consumer rights. Subject to those rights, the website provides general information and an enquiry route, and does not guarantee that a product is suitable for you or that a third party will perform an insurance contract.

Complaints and business correspondence

For a complaint about this website or Cogotec’s enquiry-handling service, write to Cogotec Limited at Rooms 1703-1704, 17/F, Tung Chiu Commercial Centre, 193 Lockhart Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong, marked “Expat Life Insure service complaint”. Explain what happened, when it happened, any enquiry reference and how you would like us to respond. Include only information needed to investigate.

Privacy matters can be sent to privacy@instlytechnologies.com. A complaint about advice, a policy, underwriting or a claim should also be directed to the responsible licensed partner or insurer through its complaints process. Making a website complaint does not extend any policy, appeal or legal deadline.

You retain any right to approach a regulator, ombudsman or court that has jurisdiction.

Applicable law and updates

These website and enquiry terms are governed by Hong Kong law, subject to any mandatory rights and protections that apply to you. The Hong Kong courts may hear disputes concerning these terms; this does not prevent a claim in another court where applicable law gives you that right.

A separate adviser agreement or insurance policy may specify different governing law and dispute arrangements. Read those documents before agreeing to them.

We will identify the effective date of these terms when published. Changes apply prospectively and do not retrospectively change an insurance policy, an existing separate agreement or rights that have already arisen.
